HUD homes for sale are sold "as is" so it is important to get a property inspection carried out before making your bid. If the home is in need of repair you'll want to take that into account and adjust your offer to reflect the cost of getting it fixed. You don't want any nasty surprises or extra costs to gobble up the thousands you've just saved on your bargain HUD home. Mistake 2. Making your bid too high .
